Turf opening

On Friday the 26th of June our new school turf opened. That means we can still play on the field when it is wet and cold in winter. We had a turf opening assembly and thanked the Kapanui school fundraising committee and the Waikanae board for their help in making the turf. After that we did a sports rotation and each of the 5 Whanau's hosted one. This rotation included the turf   and luckily Te Whenua ( my whanau ) got to go on the turf first. Before the turf got opened they did a opening ceremony in which a person from the Waikanae board blessed it and cut the ribbon. The rotation also included rob the nest, tug of war, ball rush, skipping. My favourite was the skipping as I figured out how to do one-legged Criss cross.
