On Friday the 26th of June our new school turf opened. That means we can still play on the field when it is wet and cold in winter. We had a turf opening assembly and thanked the Kapanui school fundraising committee and the Waikanae board for their help in making the turf. After that we did a sports rotation and each of the 5 Whanau's hosted one. This rotation included the turf and luckily Te Whenua ( my whanau ) got to go on the turf first. Before the turf got opened they did a opening ceremony in which a person from the Waikanae board blessed it and cut the ribbon. The rotation also included rob the nest, tug of war, ball rush, skipping. My favourite was the skipping as I figured out how to do one-legged Criss cross.Wednesday, 29 July 2015
