Inquirers Cross Country Practice

Cross Country

Every year, the Inquirers hold practices for the school Cross Country. We practice at Waikanae Park. As soon as we arrive we line up as whanaus and then get sorted into groups of 4-5. (These groups become permanent for the race) Our track consists of 2 hills and a large flat area near the end and with a total distance of 1.7km. The groups are spread out across the course so that the first runner will run the whole length and the second runner will run about 3/4 the way and so on. A teacher in our syndicate named Mr Tocker came up with a special idea of holding a skipping rope instead of holding hands or linking arms so that we weren't being pulled so much. It worked with the first runner holding the front, the second and the third sharing the middle and the last holding the end.  In total we've had about 2 practices but we've still got 1 more to go before the big event held on the 30th of May.  On the day there will be sausages for $2 and juicies for $1 and for the adults, chocolate for $2. So, come along and support our teams at Waikanae Park.
