Sam The African Drummer

Kapanui school had a visit from an Sam the African drummer on the 21st of May.He taught us how to drum on an African drum.We made sound affects to go with the music as replies. He told us that beating the drum in a certain way meant something.

Golf

Wow! People have come all the way from the golf club to teach us Kapanui school! These talented people taught us lots of skills about golf. Lets check out the cool photos they managed to give us.

Bike race

First everyone got together and we were told where to go for the mountain bike race. Everyone from Kapanui school went to the cars and went to our destination. We got out of our cars and road our bikes to the starting line and waited for around half an hour! When the races Finally began, the year 5s went first. When most of the year 5s were done half a lap, the year 6s went. Most people raced ahead while some people stayed behind. The coarse was 4km (to laps of a coarse). Throughout the hole thing, lots of people's bikes broke and lots of people got lots of horse/cow poo all over their bike. After the year 6s hole 4km track, the year 7/8s went. Kapanui school got lot of good places!
