Matariki

EXPLORERS MATARIKI EVENING.

On Monday the 10th of June the Explorers had a Matariki evening. First we had afternoon tea then we had a play on the play ground, sand pit or swings. After that the Explorers split into to groups and did some activities. One group did made rakau to play stick games with. Even one group planted potatoes and one group did modelling with salt dough. Ms Nelson made fruit kebabs with us and Ms Whittiker had a lady in room 23 doing the tukutuku panels and we had to draw the pattern of the tukutuku panels.
Next we had dinner. We thought that the fish 'n' chip shop would be thanking us because we had so many orders. Then we did star gazing on the field. After
we played spot light it was a very fun night. Every body had a fabulous night. We were all  tired at the end.

THE END!

                                 Swap a toy party 2013

A couple of weeks ago Kapanui school had the swap a toy party. We had to bring in a toy and we swapped it for a ticket. On the day our name was called and we go to choose another toy.
There were board games, soft toys, Hot Wheels, and lots, lots more.
First, Miss Hakkens called out for the red tickets then green then yellow. Most of these  toys were gone.
Then,at the end we had a box full of soft toys and puzzles which we donated to the kids op shop. All thanks to Mrs Hakkens and Room 11 (who set the toys up ) we had a fantastic Swap a toy party 2013!!!

Kahurangi Dance Company 2013

                      Kahurangi Dance Company 2013

In May the Kahurangi dance company came to Kapanui school for 2013.Most students watched and sang. .Matuarangi lead us in Whakataka te hau. Lots of people enjoyed it . My favourite part was when they did the raukau. They were very fast with the raukau sticks. There was only seven people in the group and I think they were fantastic. They had great expression and timing.
