Oscar Kightly writing workshop

Oscar Kightley Writing!!

On Friday I went to Waikanae school to see Oscar Kightley.  Oscar Kightley came to Waikanae school to see if we all have the potential to be a writer!  Oscar had a list of things that if you put your hand up saying yes I am, at least once then you have what it takes to be a writer.  We all had to do a piece of writing, Oscar Kightley said that he will read all of them and will pick about 50-60 of them to be published.  Here is a picture of Oscar Kightley.

Winter Tournament

Yesterday, the 11th of August, our school had winter tournament. We get to try out a new sport and on the tournament day all the different schools competed against each other. It was not a competitive game, no scores were kept.

I played hockey, and I really enjoyed it!!! Our team was called the Turbo Tornadoes, there were 9 people inn our team so I had to miss a game because the team voted not to do subbing. I think it was unfair because some people got three teams and the rest got two!!! I was unlucky and only got two games.

The first game we lost, 1-O to Kenakena school,I played centre forward which meant that I got to shoot goals. Even though we lost it was still a really fun game.

The next game we won, 2-O to us. I was a back ( A little bit like a goalie) but I kept on forgetting and going up to shoot.

The last game I didn't play, we tied 1-1. I really enjoyed playing hockey and I think I might play next year.

Inquirers Prep trade expo

On Friday the 29th of August our class and the other classes in our year had our trade expo. Our business, Draw for Days, handed out our survey and showed people our products. The questions in our survey were like: Would you buy our product? How much would you pay? What patterns would you like on it? Later on we analysed our data and found out that the majority of people who did our survey would buy our products and pay quite a good price. Our most popular products were the pencil case and pencils. Our group also found out that we had some competition! I think our pencil holders were better though because the others had cello tape on the outside. It was fun filling out surveys, and also telling people about our products.
