Winter Tournament
On Thursday the 14th of August kapanui school and all of the schools on kapiti coast did the winter tournament. I chose hockey because it looked fun and I had never done it before. We did 3 trainings before the real day. We left to go to mazengarb at 11 (I was in lower hutt) When we got there I played straight away for another kapanui team , we lost 4-1. In the next game I played for my team and scored no goals but we won 4-0. Next up we played a team that already played hockey and beat them 6-5 , I also scored the first 2 goals and set up 2. In our next game I scored 1 and we won 6-0. In our last game we won 1-0. I also played 3 more games for other kapanui teams and we won 8-1 , 2-0 and lost 3-1. Hockey was really fun and I am going to play after schhol next year
In term 2 and 3 the Inquirers do the winter tournament. We do 4 sports Football A.K.A Soccer , Netball Ripper rugby and Hockey. All of the Classes have to do a circuit of all the sports but the class that doesn't have a sport to do you do Basketball because that is not a winter sport in the competition. We (Room 13) started off with football. To start we did dribbling drills where we dribbled the ball around 4 cones then run to the halfway line and kick it back to the next person in our line/group and then the next person did it and so on... Next we played a small game of football and I scored a goal. We played two games which were , Boys v Girls then soccer players v the rest .
The next Week we did hockey and netball on the same day. We did hockey drills where we had to get past the defenders. Then we played a small game
Afterwards when we played netball we did a passing game where we passed down a line of 4 people , running down the netball court.
