Gym Fun!

Gym!!!

On Monday we did Gym we were learning how to spring properly, for our warm up we were doing springing forward and backward on the mat but some people weren't doing it so we had to jump like 500 times!!!

My first circuit was focused on front support front  and upper body strength (I'll give you a list of what their was)

  1.  We had to hold on to the beam and hold our front support for as long as we could.
  2.  We had to hold on to the parallel bars (no idea whats its actually called) and hold our-self in the air.
  3.  We had to climb a rope to the topπŸ˜“
My second circuit was focused on springing ( Yet another list )
  1.  We had to spring along the bounce mat
  2.  We had to hop in and out of hoops.πŸ˜–
  3. We had to bunny hop on the bench.πŸ‡
The 3rd circuit was basically the same (more lists yayπŸ˜’)
  1. Climb in and out of the rope on the ladder.
  2. Spring onto the vault.
  3. Jump and throw the ball.
And the final circuit was on the beam ( another one )
  1. On the big beam we had to do different stuff with scarfs.
  2. The medium beam we had to hop on it.
  3. The small beam we had to hop over foam.

Room 7 Wellington Museum and Nairn Cottage Trip - By Lulu

Wellington Trip

Room 7 went on a wellington trip to the wellington museum and the cottage.
at the Wellington museum we discovered who were the moarie settlers and different people who discovered new Zealand as well, we made up our own peace of drama to teach our self more about the new Zealand settlers.
The cottage is a home that was once taken care of by a family in the 1830's it has now turned into a museum:

Life Education Trust Caravan by Molly

Life Education

AT LAST!!! The life education caravan has arrived. It is fun.Every syndicate goes. This year for the inquirers we were doing relationships. When I was a yr 4 I remember that there was  to walls filled with posters.
BUT this year there was a MAJOR difference. There was a giant projector screen were one of the walls were. We were amazed. Harold was projected onto the screen and was controlled by Paula the lady who runs Life Ed. They could make it snow, rain and even make a STORM!!!! The first session was quite fun.WE played a game were you had to write about a moment that you helped someone. I couldn't remember so I wrote not sure. Then we had to write a moment people made you sad. But you weren't allowed to name people. Then we talked about what was okay and not okay. There was a line.If you were above it,that was good.Below the line and that was bad.
Second session we watched a video about a situation and you had to notice what was above the line and below the line. Paula told us after this session we would see Harold's karaoke routine. And it was hilarious. We danced and sang along. We also saw the puppet of Harold. (By the way Harold is a giraffe) By yr 3 everyone realises that he's just a puppet. Then we saw parts of the body.Kinda gross. That's it.

Olympic day - by Molly

OLYMPIC DAY
The real Olympics might be over but not the KAPANUI OLYMPICS!!! Every 4 yrs (like the Olympics) Kapanui school hosts its own Olympics!! Every Whanau class has its own country to represent. I was England in the 2012 Olympics. But this time I was Fiji.On the day we got to dress up in cute dress like things. The ceremony was AWESOME!!! 7 yr 8's carried paper and craft torches and declared the games open. There was fun activities between the ceremony like people uni-cycling! Then the games began.I had my brother Aidan and my sister Ella were with me.Ella was mostly being silly trying to impress the yr 8's but I don't think it worked. Aidan was happy most of the time and participated in the activities. My favourite one would be juggling. I can now juggle with 2 balls!!! soon the Medal ceremony began.I wondered who would win. This was my last chance to win as this was my last Olympics at this school!!!! BRONZE: INDIA (My good friend abbey won bronze!). SILVER: GERMANY. AND THE MOST PRECIOUS PLACE,GOLD: SAMOA ( My good friend Summer won gold!!) Ahh no medal for me,but it didn't matter to much cause I enjoyed the games anyway!!!!

We also looked at the information about volcanoes eruptions. We learnt that there was a volcano eruption in Taupo. Then after lunch we went to bush city.  We looked at lots of huge, rocks and learnt how old they were. We also went to a cave where we saw these stalactites, and stalagmites. Then we went to a sandpit where we could dig up a dinosaur skeleton.
